January: Jan. 10th meeting was great. Members there were Deb E, Sue A, Wendy, Barb C, Brenda, Melissa and me.
Our dues will stay the same this year at $40.00 and due by the February 14th meeting.  The way you paid last year will be fine. If you’d like to send a check to Brenda make it out to Silver Needles machine knitting club and mail it to Brenda LaMay, 309 South 12th St, Fulton, NY 13069. Do not send your money by PayPal. It costs us too much $ that way. Any questions ask Brenda.
Sue A and Wendy has offered to teach the rest of this years classes. They are going to teach a new technique each meeting while practicing on baby clothes. They will try to write the pattern for standard, midgauge and bulky machines so it will work for any machine you bring.  Of course your welcome to bring anything you want to work on or need help with. I also have some learning VCR tapes on machine knitting we can watch at the lodge. So we’ll be busy and again no meeting in June or July.
So Wendy and Sue went to the White Eagle lodge to check them out for maybe a June retreat. The dates we choice is June 18th -21st. The information on it will follow. We need to know by January 24th so can reserve our spot.

Minutes for May 8 Silver Needles club meeting

Susan Adams coordinated the first Zoom club meeting with 12 participants: Shirley Williams, Teri Lindstrom, Linda Walters, Linda Corsover, Lenore Plotkin, Ina Kushnir, Lisa Ferguson, Donna Rogers, Brenda LaMay, Kay Dedrick, Susan Adams, Wendy Taber.

How wonderful it was to see each other and chat. Show and Tell let us see what others were working on.

Videos were shown of knitting baby socks on Standard and MidGauge machines.  We will attempt to put the sock patterns and videos into the website.

Discussion of the Baby Item donations:  We are hoping to cover a Christmas tree with knitted baby items, for display at the Evert Museum and then donation to a Women’s shelter.  We are looking for hats, sweaters, mittens, socks, bootees, blankets and encourage all to use ANY pattern and yarn that you like. You can send items to Susan Adams if you wish.

Opportunity for all to participate in a DAK/Garment Design zoom group.  Anita C, Susan A, and Wendy T have been participating with a group of Chicago knitters, and we are planning to carry on with a monthly zoom get-together to sort out win’s and losses.  You are welcome to participate – send your email to Susan Adams, and she will forward them on.

Spring Retreat has been postponed to 2021.  We will choose dates at the June meeting.

Fall seminar is also at risk of cancellation or postponement.

Next meeting is June 12, likely via Zoom, with the topic “Lace”.
